Beckham Law for inbound workers: Pay less tax when arriving in Spain
Have you received a job offer in Spain from abroad or are you planning your return? The Beckham Law — special regime for inbound workers — may allow you to pay tax at 24% on your income instead of the progressive income tax rate, which can exceed 47%.
But accessing this regime without a well-designed strategy can cost you more than you save. At N30 Global we advise you to make the most of the Beckham Law, without mistakes and with a clear plan.
What is the Beckham Law and who is it aimed at?
The special regime for workers relocated to Spain (popularly known as the Beckham Law) allows certain professionals and executives who move to Spain to pay taxes as non-residents for up to six years, at a fixed rate of 24% on income up to €600,000.
It’s a real tax advantage, but it has strict conditions: not having been a tax resident in Spain in the ten years prior to relocation, the relocation being due to an employment contract, an appointment as director, or an entrepreneurial or high-value-added activity, and applying within the deadline.
A single mistake in the application or in the structure can make you lose the right or expose you to an inspection.
When is it worthwhile (and when isn't it) to apply for this regime?
The Beckham Law is not the best option for everyone. It depends on your level of income, the origin of that income, your assets, your family situation, and your medium-term plans.
For some profiles, paying under the general regime — well structured — can even be more efficient. For others, combining the Beckham Law with an appropriate corporate structure multiplies the tax benefit.
That’s why, before applying for the option, you need a real diagnosis of your situation, not a generic answer.
Advice for the Beckham Law at N30 Global
We don’t offer a formality. We offer a strategy.
Our process begins with a 360° Tax Tailoring: we review your complete case — prior residency, type of contract or activity, income, assets, and investments — and design a plan that integrates the Beckham Law into your global structure.
You will receive a clear written map of your tax situation, the exact steps to follow, the deadlines, the risks, and the alternatives. All documented. No improvisation.
We work 1-to-1. Your case is managed directly by the strategist, not a sales rep or an intern.
